Anora, an independent film, won five Oscars, including best picture and best actress for Mikey Madison, the film’s star.
Madison remarked, “This is really unbelievable.” She received her first Oscar nomination at the age of 25, and director Sean Baker became the first person to win four Oscars for the same picture.
The movie took home five awards: original script, best actress, best director, best picture, and best editing.
Kieran Culkin won best supporting actor, Zoe Saldaña won best supporting actress for Emilia Pérez, and Adrien Brody won best actor for The Brutalist in one of the most surprising races in recent memory.
